Madeira is a Portuguese island located off the coast of Morocco. Of volcanic origin, it has a subtropical climate. The weather is pleasant all year round, although at higher altitudes it can be unpredictable. Madeira is composed of lush forests, high cliffs, mountains, and pebble beaches. Funchal, the capital, is built on a hill in an amphitheater shape. During our stay in october 2025, we were unable to hike the Picos Arieiro and Ruivo trails due to the weather (fog, rain, wind).
